Murray Brown of Riversdale

Murray has been said to be at the heart of Riversdale beach. Murray not only runs the Riversdale beach store but as the President of the Riversdale Beach SLSC and President of East Coast Rugby Club. Murray manages Life Guard rosters and becomes the SLSC custodian between December and January, constantly tending to enquiries and rescues.

As the President of East Coast Rugby club Murray provides meals after trainings and coordinates people when they are helping the club out.

Ron Hughes of Featherston


Ron Hughes has been a loyal servant to the Featherson community for many decades. As an elderly gentleman he is still very active among sports clubs, organizing both winter and summer codes. Ron has made a huge contribution in several roles from the Featherston Athletic Club over many years and was recently awarded life membership to the club. Ron has also been a massive volunteer for rugby and the Wairarapa-Bush area.

Catriona Williams of Masterton

Catriona is the founder of the Catwalk Spinal Cord Injury Trust which was set up in 2004 when she became a tetraplegic  after being thrown from a horse in November 2002. In the 6 years since Catwalk has been established it has raised over $1 million dollars for research to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Catriona has become a motivational speaker and is dedicated to physical fitness and competed in the New York Marathon in November and raised over $250,000.
